Seattle space needle

We traveled to Seattle, Washington, last weekend for a short getaway. Above is a little memento. Saturday was a surprisingly beautiful day. The sun was out and the sky was clear, but it became gray mid-afternoon, right around the time we went up the space needle.

Earlier in the day, we explored Pike Place Market, which was packed with people. Lots of cool stalls with artisinal products. I had scallop sashimi at a fishmonger’s, sipped draft kombucha at a bar, and stuffed myself with oysters and shrimp at a seafood restaurant on the water. The next day held an impressive brunch at Local 360 Cafe & Bar.

We broke up the drive back home by stopping off for some shopping, including a visit to Chuck’s Hop Shop to get our growlers filled (so many choices!) and to Trader Joe’s to stock up on goodies.

In short: a fun weekend.
