Hubby gave me this idea. I’d never heard of beer bread before, but it’s ridiculously easy. I riffed on the basics of flour and beer. The rest, well, just use your imagination. You can have a lot of fun with this; make it savory or sweet.
Ingredients:
3 cups flour
12 oz. beer
sharp white cheddar (I recommend chunks totaling about 1/3-1/2 cup)
red chili flakes to taste
salt to taste
Preheat oven to 350 deg. F. Mix the ingredients by hand until you get a sticky dough.
Grease a cast iron pan (or baking or loaf pan) with olive oil or butter, shape the dough in the pan, and bake for 50-60 min. Serve alone or as a sandwich slices.
