We got into craft beer when we lived in Vancouver. When we moved to the Courthouse area of Arlington, Virginia after Vancouver, we got to continue our interest at The Brew Shop, a neighborhood store that sells craft beer and beer brewing supplies.
This independent shop is locally owned and supports local breweries. We bought beer kits from The Brew Shop before our move to Fiji and have been learning more about brewing with each batch we make in our new home.
For advanced brewers, the store has barrels of various grains so you can get creative with your batches. The knowledgeable staff are friendly and happy to talk shop about brewing techniques.
At the moment, they have Falls Church-based Settle Down Easy Brewing Company’s Hop-Wah Phonic on tap. I recommend going down there to fill your growler with this excellent brew, a West Coast-style IPA heavy on hops and piney flavor. Goes down great on its own or with a meal.
