We were invited to lunch this past weekend at Swagat, an Indian restaurant on the second level of Flagstaff Plaza in Suva, Fiji. I really like Indian food for its unique and savory spice mixes.
Swagat’s menu is extensive, with vegetarian and meat offerings.
I started the meal with a mango lassi, a yogurt-based shake, for probiotics.
We ordered a basket of fried okra for an appetizer, and I ended up eating almost all of it. It’s addictive like potato chips.
For the mains, we ordered lamb, chicken and vegetarian dishes, along with sides of naan. The naan was warm and pillowy. I scooped servings of the mains onto the naan, soaking the bread in the delicious sauces.
