We discovered that you can make ice cream at home–without a machine! It’s unbelievably easy, and it’s so much fun being creative with flavor combos.
I’ve been making chocolate chunk ice cream lately.
Any empty and clean pasta sauce bottle will do for the glass jar to hold the ice cream.
1 cup cream
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp salt
1/4-1/2 cup chocolate chunks
Place the ingredients, except the chocolate, into the jar.
Heat the chocolate in the microwave enough to soften but not melt it, then stir it in the jar with the other ingredients. (I recommend using a butter knife to transfer and mix the chocolate in the jar.)
Secure the lid on the jar, and shake the jar by hand for 5 min., then place in freezer. It should be ready to serve in 3 hours.
