Fiji Food Truck: That Food Box

The food truck industry is nascent in Fiji. There are only a handful. One of them is called “That Food Box,” and it parks along the Suva seawall on the weekends. The owner also has a couple other food trucks.

We stopped by That Food Box last Sunday to show our support for the local food industry, and we ordered lunch to take home after walking our dogs. We chatted briefly with the owner while we waited for our food.

We ordered a whole roast chicken with fries. The presentation was pretty, and I give the food a thumbs up. The chicken was tender, and the fries were flavored well with garlic salt.

Bonus: The owner happened to mention that the historic annual puja and firewalking ceremony at the Hindu Sangam temple in Suva was happening later that Sunday. We got to watch the show, and you can check out a video slideshow here.
