We just wrapped up an epic 10-day vacation that involved traveling to Savusavu on Vanua Levu and Taveuni. We traveled by ferry to these islands so we could bring our car and our dogs. It was quite an adventure.
The first leg of our journey was Savasi, a resort on a private island in Savusavu. It’s next to Namale, a resort owned by Tony Robbins. I really enjoyed staying at Savasi. It’s a luxury resort that has managed to stay open for local travelers in Fiji during the coronavirus pandemic (Fiji is a COVID-contained country). We got an excellent local rate (under $500 USD a night) for the Coral Villa. This villa is normally about $1,000+ USD a night. The modified price included a full meal plan, two massages, and a fee for our dogs.
Coral Villa is spacious, with two bedrooms and a plunge pool overlooking the Koro Sea. The view is stunning. I absolutely loved it. We stayed in the main bedroom, which has a firm and comfortable bed. The design is modern with local touches. The food is upscale, creative and well-executed. For activities, there is diving, snorkeling, spearfishing, kayaking, and standup paddleboarding.
The masseuse did a wonderful job, by the way. I was blissed out by her hour-long efforts. I like intense workouts, which can cause soreness, and the masseuse got deep into my muscle tissue to smooth out some kinks. I recommend booking an appointment if you stay at Savasi.
