This past Saturday was a beautiful, sunny one in Suva, and we took advantage of the good weather and took the dogs for a walk by the seawall.
Before we moseyed to the water’s edge, we stopped by The Fiji Food Truck, stationed at Albert Park in downtown Suva.
The menu offers a varied selection of fast food, including American, Asian and Mexican dishes.
I ordered a chicken burrito (I love Mexican food), and hubby ordered baos. We didn’t wait long for our food, event though there was a little line. We sat down on the sidewalk at the perimeter of the park to eat, and we got to see some groups playing cricket games.
The baos were good, and my burrito was satisfying, though it had what I think was a strange twist: the addition of mustard throughout the rice, ground chicken and beans. I’m not sure if this selection of sauce was a creative choice by the chef, or if they ran out of cheese or some other condiment and decided to just go with what they had on hand. I can’t say I’m a fan of mustard in burritos, but I applaud the effort, and I’m glad that this food truck exists. It’s nice to be able to grab a quick bite to eat by the water.
Next time, I’ll have to try another item from the menu.
