The Yarra Valley is about an hour’s drive from Melbourne. I highly recommend doing a day tour if you’re interested in exploring wines of the region.
We booked with the tour operator Vinetrekker, and I really enjoyed the experience. The day featured a thoughtful selection of five wineries, from big to smaller producers. The tastings were all high quality, and I enjoyed the intimate vibe of the small group. The host was attentive and knowledgeable. See the itinerary here.
