Aileen Torres Bennett

Aileen Torres-Bennett graduated summa cum laude from the George Washington University in Washington, D.C., where she studied political science, anthropology and creative writing. She is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She earned her M.S. in journalism from Columbia University in New York City. Aileen is the managing editor of Sea Technology, an international ocean business, science and engineering magazine. She is also a freelance writer who has written for Reuters, AP and Travel + Leisure. Aileen is married to Chuck Bennett, a diplomat and former journalist. Their posts include Kingston, Jamaica; Vancouver, Canada; and, currently, Suva, Fiji.

  1. We have similar academic backgrounds..but completed in a different order! I did my 1st degree in Journalism and am now doing a masters in Humanitarian Action (which combines anthropology, geopolitics and medicine!) . Great blog, looking forward to reading more! Janet 🙂
